01 The cockpit

What needs attention today, and how the day is going, across outlets.

Go to Reports & MIS → Cockpit and choose the Outlet (or all, consolidated) and the As of date.
Today shows the day's sales, fuel litres, margin and net profit, each against the day before.Pick an earlier As of date to see how any past day went.
Sales over time charts the days before it: switch between Sales, Litres, Margin and Collections, over 7d, 14d or 30d.It is drawn from the end-of-day record OCTYN takes every night.
Needs attention lists every exception, worst first — a low OMC balance, low stock, calibration due, returns due, expiring stock, expiring licences.Choose one to open the screen where it is cleared.
Where it stands is the position of the business: cash and bank, what customers owe you, what you owe, and stock value.A position, not a period — these do not reset overnight.
What it was made of breaks the day down: counter takings, collections by mode, and the top Products or Attendants.

One number, day by day, for any period.

Open Trends and choose the Metric — sales, fuel litres, fuel or non-fuel value, margin, margin per litre, net profit, cash and bank, receivables, payables, stock value or collections.
Choose the Outlet and Period to see where it is heading.
The headline is the last day recorded with the daily average; beside it, the Best day and Worst day.
Day by day charts every business day; The figures lists the same days as a table to search and export.Receivables and payables start from the first nightly record; the others go back as far as your records.

Ready-made reports, each with its own filters and exports.

Open Library.
Sales by attendant — who is actually selling; Sales by shift — which part of the day earns its keep.
Sales by product — what moves and what sits; Collections by mode — how much of the takings was real money.
Price-revision P&L — what each pump-price change made or cost you on the stock you were already holding.
The library also links to reports that live elsewhere: P&L and margins, receivables and payables, position, day book, the CA pack, GST, the stock register, inventory, registers, returns, licences and calibration.

Outlets against each other, or a period against another.

Open Comparison. Under Compare, choose Outlets against each other or This period against another.
Pick the Metric — sales value, volume, margin or margin per litre — and the Period.The ranking and the side-by-side chart show who leads; the table has the figures.

Any of OCTYN's datasets, grouped the way you want.

Open Builder and choose 1 · Which data — for example Fuel sales (DSR), Expenses or Customer aging.
Choose the period and how to group and total it, then Run report.
Choose Save as a view and name it.Saved views are listed under Saved views and always run on fresh data.
Open Saved views and choose Run on any view.

Done. The cockpit for today, trends for the direction, the library for the detail, and your own views for everything else. Open it in OCTYN.
