01 The period and the quick filters
Most lists open on the current month. Start by narrowing the dates and the outlet.
- Open a list — for example Accounts → Expenses or Lubricants & retail → Sales.
- Choose the Period to change the date range.Pick two dates on the calendar; the list reloads for that range.
- Where a screen has an Outlet selector, choose one outlet or all of them.
02 Search and narrow
Every list has a search box, and many have switches for what to include.
- Type in the search box — a payee, a customer, an invoice number, a product. The list narrows as you type, and the count beside the list title shows how many rows match.
- Use the list's own switches — for example Show voided on Expenses — to include or leave out rows.
- Choose Clear beside the search to go back to everything.
03 Advanced filter
For what a search cannot say — "Repairs or Maintenance, over ₹1,000" — combine conditions.
- Choose Advanced filter, then Add filter.
- Pick what to filter on (for example Category), then the condition (is any of), then tick the values. After each choice the next list opens by itself — pick from it straight away.
- Choose Add filter again for another condition, for example Amount is greater than 1000.Press Enter, or click elsewhere, to apply a typed value. Escape while typing undoes what you typed.
- Rows are joined by And — every condition must hold. Switch it to Or for either one; Add group nests a set of conditions.
- The Advanced filter button shows how many conditions are on; Clear beside it removes them all.
04 Export exactly what you see
An export is the rows on screen — after the period, search and filters — not the whole table.
- Choose Export CSV for a spreadsheet-ready file, Export Excel for a formatted workbook, or Export PDF to share or print. The file names the filters that were on, so the reader knows what it covers.
- Ledgers with a running balance — an OMC account, a customer statement — export whole, because a filtered balance would be wrong.
Done. Any list, narrowed to what you need and exported as it stands. Open it in OCTYN.
