01 Cash up each shift
Every closed shift is counted once, attendant by attendant.
- Go to Cash → Collections and pick the closed shift.Each attendant's expected figure comes from the meters, less the credit slips already written.
- Enter what each attendant handed in, by payment mode.
- Check the variance — balanced, short or excess — before anything is posted.
- Choose Reconcile & post.A short is charged to the attendant's ledger and the cash goes into the cash book.
02 The attendant's balance
A short is carried on the attendant's ledger.
- Open Ledgers and pick the attendant to see what they owe and every entry behind it.The cashier sees the balance; the accountant, manager or owner records the recovery.
03 The cash book
Everything that came into and went out of the drawer.
- Open Cash book to see the day's cash, ready to bank.Cash-ups come in; deposits go out once the cash is banked.
04 Recover the short
On the accountant's screen.
- Open the attendant's ledger under Ledgers and choose Record to record a recovery.A recovery is cash the attendant pays back.
- Enter the amount and choose Save.Their balance drops by that amount.
05 Bank the cash
The bank counterfoil is the evidence.
- Open Bank deposits, choose Record deposit — one per trip to the bank — and enter the amount and bank account.
- Choose Save.The cash book goes down and the bank goes up.
06 Did the day tie?
Sales, cash, credit and deposits for one outlet-day.
- Open Day reconciliation.It sets expected against accounted, and lists anything not yet cashed up.
- Payment modes — cash, card, UPI, fleet cards — are set under Payment modes; the cash-up screen asks for each one.
Done. Cash counted, the short recovered, the cash banked, and the day tied. Open it in OCTYN.
