01 Install the app
No app store. It installs from the browser.
- Sign in. The first time on a device, Octyn shows Install Octyn on your device for quick access.
- Choose Install, and confirm when your browser asks.Octyn then has its own icon and opens in its own window.
- On an iPhone or iPad, open Octyn in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- On a shared computer, choose Dismiss instead.Octyn does not ask again on that device.
02 Alerts on this device
You get these by email already. This adds them to the device in your hand.
- Choose Account & security at the top right.
- Under Push notifications, choose Enable on this device, and allow notifications when your browser asks.Alerts cover low stock, licence renewals, the oil company balance, billing and security events.
- It now says On for this device.Each phone and computer opts in separately. Turn off on this device stops them here only.
- If it says notifications are blocked, allow them for Octyn in your browser's site settings, then reload.On an iPhone or iPad, install Octyn to the Home Screen first; Safari only allows notifications for installed apps.
03 Light and dark
A forecourt is bright at noon and dark at nine.
- Choose Appearance in the top bar.
- Choose Light, Dark or Follow system.Follow system changes with your phone or computer by itself.
Done. Octyn is on your device, and tells you the moment something needs you. Open it in OCTYN.
